In our Cambridge facility, we maintain a balance of the latest CNC technology and dependable manual machinery.
This ensures we have the right tool for every specific task, whether that is a high-volume production run or a one-off component that requires a more personal touch.
We invest in our machinery because we know that reliable hardware is the only way to guarantee the tight tolerances our customers expect.
We focus on creating a logical workflow where raw material enters at one end and a finished, inspected part leaves at the other. By running a variety of different machine types, we can choose the best path for your project based on its geometry and material.
Our team knows these machines inside out, which allows us to get the very best performance and accuracy from every piece of kit we own.
Our milling section is designed to handle a vast range of sizes and shapes. We operate several vertical machining centres that include 3, 4, and 5 axis capabilities. Having 5 axis machines is a significant advantage for our clients because it allows us to reach multiple sides of a part in a single setup. We can work with anything from small, intricate brackets to much larger components that require a substantial work envelope.
For all cylindrical work, we rely on a selection of high-performance CNC lathes. These machines are built for stability and speed, allowing us to turn out parts with extremely consistent dimensions and smooth surface finishes. Several of our lathes are multi-tasking models, which means they have live tooling to perform milling or drilling tasks while the part is still being turned.
The CNM machine in our workshop is a specialised piece of equipment that helps us manage specific manufacturing requirements that standard machines might struggle with. We use this machinery to support the more unique aspects of our engineering services, ensuring that we have a solution for even the most non-standard requests. It is a vital part of our toolkit and allows us to provide a more rounded service to our clients in Cambridge.
Our manual mills and lathes are perfect for those quick jobs that don’t necessarily require a complex computer programme. We often use these machines for simple modifications, making our own bespoke tooling, or handling urgent repair work.
It is a more tactile way of working that relies on the years of experience our engineers have built up.
We use a variety of digital and mechanical measuring tools to check every dimension of our work against your technical drawings.
This includes everything from simple calipers and micrometres to more advanced measuring systems that can verify complex geometries.
We record our findings to ensure that every batch is fully traceable and meets the high standards we set for ourselves.
