CNC Milling Cambridge

Our milling services are built around a range of 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.

This variety allows us to choose the most logical setup for your specific component.

While 3 axis milling is perfect for simpler parts, our 4 and 5 axis capabilities mean we can machine very complex shapes in a single operation.

By finishing a part in fewer setups, we maintain better accuracy and can often deliver the finished product to you much sooner.

CNC Turning Cambridge

We use a selection of modern lathes and multi-tasking machines to produce everything from simple pins to complex shafts with secondary features.

These multi-tasking lathes are particularly useful because they can mill and drill features while the part is still on the spindle.

This means we can often complete a complex turned part without having to move it to a separate milling machine. The result is a more concentric and precisely finished component that meets your exact requirements.

CMM Inspection and Quality Assurance

We use CMM inspection to measure our components against the original CAD data. This coordinate measuring machine allows us to verify dimensions and geometries that would be very difficult to check with manual tools.

Every part of our quality assurance process is designed to catch any discrepancies before the parts leave our facility. This level of scrutiny is standard for us, ensuring that you receive components you can trust.

We have spent years working with a wide range of metals and plastics. We regularly machine aluminium and stainless steel, but we are also very comfortable with tougher alloys like titanium and brass. On the plastics side, we work with materials such as PEEK, Acetal, and Nylon, which are common in the medical and scientific sectors.

We understand how these materials react to heat and pressure, so we can ensure the final part stays stable and accurate.

Formats Accepted

We generally prefer to work with STEP or IGES files for 3D work, and DXF or PDF files for 2D drawings. However, if you have your designs in a different format, we can usually find a way to import them into our system.

We use these digital files to create the programmes for our machines, ensuring that the physical part is a perfect reflection of your original design.

Additional
Finishing Services

We provide a variety of finishing treatments to make sure your parts are ready for use. This includes laser marking and profiling for clear identification, as well as electroless nickel plating and chrome plating for surface protection. For aluminium components, we offer both clear and coloured anodising to improve durability and appearance. We also provide ultrasonic cleaning to ensure parts are perfectly clean, alongside wet and powder painting for a robust final finish.
